1. I have used HDPE pipe welding machines of Binh Minh Plastic, but forgot the welding parameters for each pipe size. Can the company provide specific welding parameters for each type of machine?

    • In case you have mastered the method of butt welding HDPE pipes, but do not remember the specific settings for time, pressure, temperature, etc.
    • Please contact the Company's Sales Department (028 3969 0973) to be provided with a table of settings suitable for the type of machine in use.

2. Can the butt weld on HDPE pipe, or on HDPE pipe fittings when the system works at high pressure - for example PN20, withstand?

    • Each type of pipe and pipe fitting has a specific working pressure rating. In a system, if pipes and pipe fittings have different working pressure values, the working pressure of the entire system will be the minimum pressure value of the pipe section or pipe fitting.
    • For example: If a pipe has a working pressure of PN10 while the pipe fitting has a working pressure of PN20, the working pressure of the system will only be PN10.
    • The butt welds on that system, if properly performed, will also withstand the corresponding working pressure.

3. Advantages and disadvantages of HDPE pipes?

Advantages: Binh Minh Plastic HDPE pipes also share some advantages of other types of plastic pipes such as:

  • The pipe surface is smooth, so the flow resistance is low, avoiding the formation of residue, moss and bacteria in the pipe for a long time, protecting the water source from local pollution, saving operating energy.
  • Has the ability to resist chemical corrosion on the inner and outer surfaces of the pipe.
  • Long life span of over 50 years.
  •  Light weight

Example: Pipe with the same diameter and thickness:

  • HDPE: 7.0 kg/m
  • Ductile cast iron: 24 kg/m
  • Steel: 29 kg/m

In addition, HDPE pipes also have:

  • Flexibility: Can be bent according to more installation requirements or rolled up to a large length.
  • Heat welding method make the system more uniform, easier to construct, especially in unstable installation environments.

However, HDPE pipes also have disadvantages:

  • High initial investment costs.
  • Construction and installation require specialized welding equipment, power sources, and trained operators.
