The summer of 2024 witnessed an important collaborative effort between Binh Minh Plastics Joint Stock Company, Representative of Phuong Hoang Distributor, Hiep Yen store, representative of SCG Home and organizations, including Xuan Quang 1 Commune People's Committee (Dong Xuan district), Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education Youth Union, Phu Yen Provincial Military Command, and local people. The project carried a meaningful mission: Providing water for people in drought-stricken areas.

The journey of bringing water to arid lands

Under the heat of summer, volunteers united and steadily began pulling HDPE plastic pipes over 10 km long from the headwaters to households in Xuan Quang 1 commune, Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province. This area is facing severe water shortages during the hot season. This is also a problem that Binh Minh Plastics is particularly interested in and actively participates in solving through the series of activities "Cherish the water source - Love the future". Specifically, the Enterprise has supported Vinh Long, Soc Trang, Ca Mau, and Phu Yen provinces by providing a total of 19,200m of PVC-U pipes and 9,700m of HDPE pipes, serving 1,257 households.

 On July 22, the inauguration ceremony of phase 1 of the project to install a gravity-fed water system from Vuc Tron to the villages of Xuan Quang 1 commune was solemnly organized. The project has a total length of more than 8 km with a total investment of up to 1 billion VND, of which Binh Minh Plastics contributed more than 600 million VND. The project not only provides clean water for more than 200 households but also marks an important step in improving the living conditions of the local community.

The ceremony was attended by many important leaders and representatives, including Mr. Tran Xuan Dien, Deputy Head of the Mass Mobilization Commission of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Luong Minh Tung, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union; Mrs. Tran Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union and President of Ho Chi Minh City Vietnamese Students' Association; Mrs. Dang Thuy Khanh Van, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Universities and Colleges Block; and Mrs. Truong Thi Hien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.

 Overcoming challenges with a resilient spirit

 The complex terrain of Xuan Quang 1 commune is mainly rocky and lacks a water plant to supply clean water. With limited resources, people can only use rainwater for about three months a year, with the remaining months being severely dry. This is a challenge that the local government has been struggling with for many years, and the support from Binh Minh Plastics and the volunteers has truly made a difference.
