For many years, the residents of Xuan Quang 1 commune have suffered from severe water shortages every dry season. Now, they are overjoyed as Binh Minh Plastic Joint Stock Company, in collaboration with local authorities, volunteer youth, and various organizations, has brought clean water flowing directly from the source to households.
Bringing clean water to arid lands
Each year during the dry season, the lives of residents in Xuan Quang 1 commune (Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province) are heavily impacted by the lack of domestic water. Daily, people must traverse long and rugged paths to find water. Local water supply infrastructure is nearly non-existent, forcing residents to rely on rainwater available only about three months a year. For the remaining months, they face severe drought conditions, causing anxiety and insecurity in daily life. Now, with the completion of the gravity-fed water supply project, residents of Xuan Quang 1 can live with greater peace of mind.

On September 7, Binh Minh Plastic Joint Stock Company coordinated with the People's Committee of Xuan Quang 1, the Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education to inaugurate and hand over the youth project installing a gravity-fed water system from Vuc Tron to the villages of Xuan Quang 1.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Asada Boonsrirat, Deputy General Director, and representative of Phuong Hoang Distributor; Mr. Nguyen Van Thoi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Xuan district; Mr. Dang Van Trong, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Dong Xuan District People's Committee; Mr. Vo Duy Kha, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union; representatives from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education; and local authorities along with many residents of Xuan Quang.

The project was implemented in two challenging yet meaningful phases. Phase one, starting on July 22, successfully installed the gravity-fed water system from Vuc Tron to Ky Lo and Suoi Coi 1 villages, marking a new chapter in the lives of local residents. Phase two, on September 7, extended the system to Suoi Coi 2 village, creating a positive and sustainable change for the entire Xuan Quang 1 commune.
With over 8,000 meters of Binh Minh pipes and fittings and a total investment of approximately 1 billion VND, the project transformed the local infrastructure. Binh Minh Plastic contributed more than 600 million VND, while the community mobilized social resources for an additional 400 million VND.
The program was completed in two months with enthusiastic participation from the Phu Yen Provincial Military Command, over 200 volunteer students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, and Binh Minh employees contributing a day of labor, working alongside local residents to install the pipeline.

The project's success is largely due to the contributions of multiple stakeholders: local authorities, the Provincial Youth Union, the Phu Yen Military Command, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, and Binh Minh Plastic, forming a collective force that exceeded expectations. Smooth coordination among parties accelerated progress and ensured quality, turning the dream of Xuan Quang 1 residents into reality.

The immense joy of Xuan Quang 1 residents is the most meaningful achievement of the project. Mr. Nguyen So, a resident of Suoi Coi 1 village, expressed his feelings seeing water flow to his home: "We are so happy. It’s truly precious, because water is like blood in our bodies—it’s indispensable. Thanks to the attention of authorities, Binh Minh Plastic, and volunteer youth, we no longer worry about drought. Here, groundwater is very scarce, so during dry seasons, we face great difficulties obtaining water. We had to fetch water from far away rivers and streams—it was so exhausting. Now that water has arrived, everyone is thrilled."
Efforts to share with the community
These meaningful activities are part of the "Cherish Water, Love the Future" program by Binh Minh Plastic, launched in 2023, bringing clean water to thousands of households. By mid-2024, Binh Minh Plastic had supported over 1,357 households with more than 27,000 meters of PVC-U pipes and 9,700 meters of HDPE pipes. These figures are not just achievements but symbols of Binh Minh Plastic's dedication and continuous effort to improve community life.
